Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Another year have passed, and I am still alive! \o/
So towards the later half of this year I have started to try and learn Unity. It has been quite a nice experience so far, still so much to learn though. The plan is to make some kind of logic puzzle game for the mobile/tablet market.
Have also been experimenting with some VR platforms like Vive and Daydream, which have been really fun. Can’t show much due to secrecy/nda/etc..
The beer-brewing is going fine, gonna put the Christmas beer to the test tomorrow.
Until next time!
Time for my yearly blogpost again… Another year as a webdeveloper have passed. Still at North Kingdom, over 10 years now, still liking it.
Have had some fun projects this year as well, still trying to focus mostly on canvas and 3d/webgl(and staying away from css/html). Some smaller things with VR, feels like many want to ride the hype, but not really sure how to climb the unicorn.. See how that will pan out.
We have also gotten to a point where it is about as complicated to “compile” a fucking website as it was to compile a whole operating system 15 years ago… Good work webdev-community!! (:
On a personal level, have had another(third) kid this year, was a girl this time! \o/
Have joined a local hobby beer-brewery.. gotta have a hobby!
So Cheers! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
There is currently some issues with the site, probably due to the recent server move. So no subpages can currently be accessed :/. Hopefully Jocke will fix it soon.. :)
Edit 2013-15-16: Seems to work again now, turns out I had to update the permalinks after the server move…
Time for my yearly tradition to at least show some sort of sign of life, usually around Xmas.
Have been home on ‘daddyleave’ with kid nr 2 since the beginning of July, so lots of playing with Lego(for real), changing filthy diapers, cleaning, and lately playing in the snow.
Also had a 5 month coding break. So lots of ideas/thoughts have piled up, so have done some small js/webgl experiments recently(even one with a winter/xmas theme).
Really looking forward to get back to work again after New Year. It’s really great with kids and all! But honestly.. some mornings it’s a bit like waking up at a mental institution, during a full scale riot.. :)
My blood presure must have gone up for sure… So it will be great to get back to the more ‘mature’ people in ad-industry with their sane, well timed deadlines, etc… :P
Have a nice holiday and a great 2013!
So, another year passes by. Finally managed to get the site moved to a wordpress solution this year, yay! Have had the great privilege to work on a couple of realtime 3d projects this year. First up was ROME(nominated for pca on fwa) in the beginning of the year, big, fun and challenging project built using webgl. Towards the end of the year we did Netguys, a small, short stage3D project.
I really think these technologies are great tools and will prove to be really helpful when it comes to building immersive experiences, games, etc. on teh internetz. Got a lot of potential if used right. I guess the biggest obstacle will be gpu-blacklists and crappy gpu:s, especially in the macbook-infected industry where I work. But we´ll see.
Hope you all have a nice holiday and a great 2012!
Well, I have finally joined the 21st century and moved the, almost 10 year old, html-site to a wordpress solution. Just what the world needs, another asshole with a blog…
Big thanks to Jocke and Spocke at Moxiecode for the help with the hosting! And hey, I’m using their wysiwyg-editor while writing this. Check out TinyMCE, it´s a great open-source project.
Let me know if you find something that´s not working.
I have become the father of a son. :) Check out a small clip here, of him lying around doing whatever they do.
WM 2006 Webflags by André Michelle, from Germany ;)
Edit: Well, that didn´t help the Swedish team much :) Gongratulations to Germany! I´m cheering for Brazil now, since they are the most fun to watch.
As of next year(2005), I will be working full time as a flash programmer again ;)
I will be joining North Kingdom. A small, very talented web agency consisting of a few people I have worked with before.
I don´t think I will be coding many games though. Mostly websites I guess, which is also fun. So wish me luck! :-)
I´d like to wish you all a Merry christmas and a happy new year! Have bought myself an early christmas present… :) A Gba sp classic nes with a Flash card(has nothing to do with Macromedia Flash).
So I´m gonna try and develop some simple games for it when I get chance ;)
A little statistics. Have had more than 4 million hits so far this year, more than 2 million of them were in December. About 70 gb of data was transfered.Reflex seemed to be the most popular game, about 800 000 hits. Big thanks to Moxiecode for hosting the site!
Long time since I last wrote something here. I´ve been busy with other stuff in “real life”. Working… and I bought myself a house(!), been busy renovating(only indoors so far). Moving, girlfriend and a bunch of other things have been taking my time.
So I haven´t been “Flashing” that much lately.. But now I finally got a broadband connection(2.5mBit) instead of my horrible 56k modem. Therefor I´m hoping to get back into Flash a little bit.
unfinished stuff(dead link now) though, some old style scrolls, a new mario engine(arrowkeys, space, z), car physics(arrowkeys) and a metroid test(arrowkeys, space).
My good friends at Moxiecode Systems have been so kind to offer me to host this site at their dev-server. Many thanks! The old url-forwarding will still work of course, “outsideofsociety.idz.net” that is, but it will be forwarded to http://oos.moxiecode.com instead.
The old one: “w1.910.telia.com/~u91024173” will be closed down eventually.
So let´s hope it works ok, and please let me know if you found some broken links or anything like that.
